Geospatial/Imagery Analyst
Washington, DC

Qwaltec is seeking a candidate to support development of training scenarios that reflect actual operational challenges to forward-deployed NGA Analysts. The analyst will work as part of a team that includes Instructional System Designers (ISD) and Instructors to refine existing Deployment Training courseware. The team will focus on development of practical exercises for students who will be supporting CENTCOM activities. The analyst will also assist Instructors during deployment courses in presenting the practical exercises as well as mentoring instructors on challenges faced by deployed analysts.

The candidate must have the following minimum requirements:

  • 3+ years recent applied Geospatial Analyst/Imagery Analyst experience deployed to CENTCOM AOR or attached to CONUS organizations supporting forward operating forces or analysts
  • Hands-on experience with ArcGIS , RemoteView, SocetGXP, DataMaster and FalconView
  • Experience with MS Office and associated software tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, Explorer) 
  • Hands-on experience with databases to include WARP, CAS-I or MIDB
  • Practical experience in solving intelligence problems using NGA methodologies 
  • Working knowledge of airborne, national, theater and commercial platforms 
  • Working knowledge of the national imagery exploitation processes, policies and production cycles 

Desirable skills include: 

  • BS/BA degree in Geography, Geodetic Sciences or an RSI/GIS related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of imagery theory and its applications to include Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Thermal Infrared (TIR), Multi-spectral Imagery (MSI) and Hyperspectral Imagery (HSI) processing and analysis 
  • Proven experience with ESRI’s Internet Map Server and Spatial Database Engine 
  • RSI/GIS programming experience including EML, ArcObjects and VisualBasic
  • Working knowledge of NIMA Muse, GeoTrans, MapInfo, image exploitation software and ENVI
  • Understanding of Instructional Systems Design (ISD)


Work will be conducted primarily at the Washington Navy Yard and travel to other government facilities in the DC area as well as NGA St. Louis may be required.

The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current TS/SCI level security clearance.
